Somali ‘militants’ kill hostage

Or not?

Conflicting information is coming from the French government and kidnappers who claim, respectively, that hostage Denis Allex, a French intelligence agent held near Mogadishu, Somali since July 2009, was killed during a failed rescue attempt last Saturday or conversely that he was executed by the Al-Shabaab “rebel group,” according to MSN’s news website.

It has been reported that 17 of the individuals holding Allex and 2 French Commandos, who led the raid on Al-Shabaab last weekend to free the captive, were also killed in the melee.

Wherever the truth lies concerning the death of the Frenchman, it is abundantly clear that mainstream, left-wing media outlets like MSN continue to soft-shoe when it comes to terrorism.

At no point in its nearly 200 word article can the words terror, terrorist, or terrorism be found; MSN opting instead for the terms “rebel group,” and “militants.”

Far less concerned about their public image, the terrorist group’s spokesman Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab stated, “Let Muslims enjoy his execution and the French cry.”

If words mean anything, and they do – or at least they used to – euphemizing the malfeasance, by tenderizing the words used to describe these atrocities, ostensibly committed under the auspice of Muslim terrorism, is in a sense making one complicit to the evil they commit.

At the end of the day another human being has been senselessly slaughtered and Islamic zealotry, i.e. TERRORISM, is the root cause of it. Calling it what it really is might bring no sense of comfort to the loved ones of the deceased, but dumbing-down the rhetoric in the interest of being politically correct most definitely does a great dishonor.
