The story of H20...Once upon a time during a dark and stormy night in San Francisco an amazing drinking water called Soma was created at a dinner party. The story goes that Mike, the host, unwilling to place a cheap plastic "other brand" water filter on his impeccably set table, decided to pour the filtered water into a glass wine decanter. It seemed like a good idea at the time. However, the lid of the water pitcher fell off, causing water to gush all over the kitchen floor. As Mike cleaned up the spill he pondered, ““Why can’t someone create a water filter that’s beautifully designed, easy to use, and made of sustainable materials?” And so unto us Soma was born.
Beauty is skin deep and to maintain it we need to drink lots of pure, pesticide and pollutant-free water. This is just what Mike’s innovative, cutting-edge company produces. Water is not only for thirst but to keep us healthy, but recent reports showing the dangers of what lurks in our water, and toxins that are present from plastic water bottles - we are now presented mixed messages of health and water.
The Soma water filter comes in a beautiful glass carafe (no plastic) and the filters are made from entirely biodegradable materials; PLA plastic, coconut shells, silk & a plant-based casing. A subscription service, that ranges in price from $12.99 and up (plus cost of karafe) brings filters straight to your door so you always have fresh, pure water.
The Soma filter was actually created with world-renowned filtration expert, David Beeman (of Starbucks) and is looking to change the way we look at safe drinking water and water filters. Additionally, with the purchase of every filter, Soma makes a donation to charity:water aiding in their efforts to provide safe drinking water to people all over the world.
