A soldier’s girlfriend received the most heartwarming gesture from an anonymous vet this past Sunday, March 17, and the Facebook photo she posted has now gone viral, according to the “Huffington Post”.
Samantha Ford, girlfriend to Albert John DeSimone, a soldier deployed in Afghanistan, went into Dunkin Donuts on Sunday, to return to her car to find two $20 bills and a touching note from a United States Veteran on her car.
I noticed the sticker on the back of your car. Take your hero out to dinner when he comes home. Thank you both for serving: Him deployed and you for waiting. (Signed) United States Veteran. God Bless
The soldier’s girlfriend took a photograph of the money and thank you note and then shared it to Facebook on the Our Deployment 101 fan page with the following comment.
Just thought I would share with you all what happened to me today! Came out of Dunkin Donuts and found this under my windshield wiper. There are no words to describe how I'm feeling right now. Tears in my eyes. I just wish I could thank whoever did this! God bless our troops and all of those who stand behind them. ♥
Since Sunday, the post has received over 1.6 million likes and has been shared more the 200,000 times.
The love the soldier’s girlfriend feels transcends continents and the thoughtfulness of the vet’s note honors all that choose to serve and have served to protect this country. God Bless them all.
