SolarTAC works to make Colorado a solar energy powerhouse

It's been quite a year for Colorado's solar industry, and a company known as Solar TAC (Solar Technology Acceleration Center) is doing what it can by making the industry build better, more efficient solar technology for energy production.

On their official website, the organization describes itself as " an integrated, world-class test facility where the solar industry can research, test, validate, and demonstrate solar technologies." And, better yet, it's located right here in Aurora - the same place where GE announced last year that it would be opening a solar panel manufacturing plant.

With 74 acres of flat and graded land to work with, as well as access to power grids, permits, and testing facilities SolarTAC removes many of the hurdles solar-tech companies face with developing new technologies. This is right on par with Colorado's recent admittance into the Advanced Energy Economy and the latest push for solar-thermal technology to become a primary provider of energy in the state.

A similar facility is located up the road in Boulder County, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, provides similar facilities for those looking to experiment with new technologies and methods for harnessing wind power.
