Solar energy for residential and commercial use in California

Solar energy for residential and commercial uses is growing as an industry in California. Governor Schwarzenegger recently signed an executive order that requires state utilities to get a third of their power from renewable sources by 2020.

Government mandates, business incentives and rising electrical costs will continue to push growth among companies focused on alternative energies and solar energy in particular. Rebates make solar energy cost-effective for homeowners.

One company poised for growth is Pursol Solar Systems headquartered in the San Diego area. Pursol (the name came from “pure sun”) projects range from applications for large scale power plants and public sector projects to offering turn-key residential applications.

For the residential market, the company has grown from about 30 sales representatives in the field to about 100 sales representatives this year. The initial target market is Orange County, San Diego and Riverside counties.

Sales reps go to residences and take the electric bill of the home and can match it with no down payment from the consumer.

When the homeowner agrees to purchase the system, within 60 days of closing, California rebates 52% of the total cost of the solar energy system back to the homeowner.

As the demand for solar energy increases, Pursol sees no problem in supplying customers.

The company has a four-step process in supplying a quote to homeowners that’s available on its web site or visit www.pursolsolar.com for more information on solar energy and a list of frequently asked questions.
