Arlington's own Sol Roots recently announced that he and his trio will be performing at Jo Jo's Restaurant and Bar every Sunday in January from 8:30 pm to 12:30 am. Jo Jo's is located at 1518 U St. NW, Washington DC. Jo Jo's is known for quality music every night of the week, as well as good food and drinks with a relaxed atmosphere. Funky bassist Andreas Holmstrom (Brandon Combs, Gonzos Nose), drummer Gabin Assouramou (Lucky Dub, Diving Sage) and drummer Scott Rabino (Tommy Castro, Lisa Lim) will be joining him there. DC Blues Society and Songwriters Association of Washington card members will get a special discounts at the Sol Roots Sunday night shows.
Sol will be performing at JV's on Friday, January 27. JVs is a classic roadhouse venue that showcases high quality DC area blues, rockabilly and rock performers on a regular basis. The place has a fun relaxed vibe. The group features drummer Deren Blessman (Mary Ann Redmond, Fatskeys), and bassist Mike Pryor (Nadine Rae, Charles Wright). JV's is located at 6666 Arlington Blvd., Falls Church.
Sol's Thursday open jam and Friday band night at L.A. Bar has been canceled due to business red-tape with the venue.
