Sol Ring is going to be in every single one of the upcoming Commander decks. Monty Ashley spoiled the good news on the Magic Arcana today – Sol Ring is a staple in every Commander deck, and it’s quite amazing that Wizards of the Coast is going to stuff one of these magnificent mana-makers into each and every package.

Sol Ring is an automatic addition in most formats in which it is legal, and Commander is no exception.
Players can acquire Sol Rings “fairly easily” but the secondary market for Sol Ring can be intimidating to newer players, but now someone just getting into Commander will have one of these Sol-id little jewels ready to go from day one.
The inclusion of Sol Ring in each Commander package shows that Wizards of the Coast is taking the product fairly seriously, knowing full well that one does not simply sit down at a Commander table without a Sol Ring.
If this trend continues, expect to see a lot of great things popping up as the Commander decklists are spoiled, with a mix of new legends and old-school delights like the classical and consummate Sol Ring.
