Speaking to Seth Combs of SOL REPUBLIC last week regarding CES 2013, Combs stated that the company was happy with the way the Tracks, Tracks HD and Tracks Ultra headphones have been received, but were still looking at the future and how the headphones would evolve.
Something was being planned for CES; something that would improve upon the already-solid sound quality while also looking towards a highly requested feature - over-ear cans.
Enter the Master Tracks over-ear headphones, which the company officially unveiled today. The headphones make use of the new X3 Sound Engines that aim to reproduce the kind of sound you can experience at a nightclub. Simply put, SOL REPUBLIC wants to deliver deep bass, clean highs and improved mids, which enhance vocal clarity.
Since we founded SOL REPUBLIC, our goal has always been to bring great sound to the masses. Master Tracks is a natural extension of this mission, said company president Scott Hix.Whether you prefer an in-ear, on-ear or over-ear headphone, you can experience the unmatched combination of SOL REPUBLIC’s sound, style and technology.”
As with the previous set of headphones, the Master Tracks will also use the company's FlexTech Sound Track headbands, which not only improve audio, but are also nearly indestructible. In fact, the company is so confident of the build quality that they offer a 1,000-day guarantee that would replace a headband, should it actually break.
Upon release, the Master Tracks will be available in black, white and blue, while optional headbands in green, purple and red will also be available. The Master Tracks are expected to be released in late February for $199.99 and can be pre-ordered at SOLREPUBLIC.com.
Stay tuned for a full hands-on review of the Master Tracks.
