King of Prussia Mall is a one-stop shoppers dream because of the many goods it offers. From restaurants, electronics stores, shoe stores and of course clothing, there's lots to discover at the Mall Boulevard location. Known by those who frequent the mall as “K.O.P.” there are more than 400 stores within the “Court” and the “Plaza” including many new additions yearly. The latest attraction is Soft Surroundings! It is a comfortable atmosphere that welcomes any shopper to their stylish abode. Located on the Lower Level of The Court near Bloomingdale's, it is the perfect destination for those who are looking to surround themselves with not only high-quality apparel and jewelry, but also other homey items and a section that offers hair and beauty products. I had the pleasure of attending a grand opening at Soft Surroundings on September 19th with media, local consumers of the company's catalog and other special guests. It was a great turnout of attendees who gathered to check out the space, get one on one beauty consultations, mingle and do a bit of shopping!
Featuring women's apparel and other home items, I was taken in by how cozy the store is. Greeted by Jessica Conick who is responsible for Public Relations for Soft Surroundings, she welcomed me into the store and gave me a rundown of the fabulous space. It is important to note that Soft Surroundings is not that “new” to the world of retail. It began as a catalog line 15 years ago and soon transformed into retail stores, stores that are also in Boston, San Antonio, Connecticut, and a few other cities!
I had the opportunity to speak with Robin Sheldon, President and Founder of Soft Surroundings, she explained to me her excitement of the newest location. “We chose King of Prussia because it is the biggest premiere mall in the country! With 68 million catalogs mailed out a year, it was important to reach more consumers.” Robin also informed me that the customer demographic is primarily those from the baby boomer generation. Though I could see a possible crossover that other age groups would love. For instance, their “Azure Earrings” a teardrop styled earring with colors of turquoise, blue and gold at the grand opening I spotted for $29.95. Also their hair care section is quite versatile, I actually purchased the “DevaCurl Set It Free” spray for my curly locks, and it smells great! With my face refreshed with enhanced eyebrows and blush by makeup artist Shawn Towne the Global Educator of beauty products line Jane Iredale, along with my media bag in tow which was filled with two catalogs and a series of samples and full sized products, I had enjoyed my evening.
Soft Surroundings is open for business so stop in and explore its offerings of home décor, jewelry, clothing, shoes, plus more! Prices for merchandise can be on the higher end, it can depend on what the item is. However, the quality and exquisite nature of all its products and apparel is appealing to the average working woman. Their autumn styles for the petite, misses, women's and tall sizes are in and quite fashionable!
