Sofia Vergara got an illness that has been taking the United States by storm. The beautiful, 40-year-old Colombian actress missed the 2013 Oscars due to the flu, reports KpopStarz on Feb. 26, 2013. "She came down with a nasty case of flu and had to cancel all plans for Oscar weekend," said a source. However, the illness is not a serious one as early rumors suggested.
Vergara took to her Twitter with the news of her illness, "Watching the Oscars at home, so I don’t give everyone the flu haha!." She also included with the tweet a humorous black and white Instagram of her lying in bed, sticking her tongue out and making a funny face at the camera.
The 2013 flu season in the United States has been a bad one. However, things are getting better. "Many parts of the country are still seeing high - and in some parts - increasing levels of activity while overall activity is beginning to go down," said CDC Director Dr. Tom Frieden.
