Sofia Vergara was missed on the Oscars 2013 red carpet, and according to a Feb. 25 New York Post report, it was due to a bad case of the flu. Or could this be the prelude to a pregnancy announcement? It’s no secret that stars normally fess up to “the flu” before admitting to being pregnant. The latest in this trend is Kim Kardashian.
In this case, the flu story may actually be true. A source told the Post that “She came down with a nasty case of flu and had to cancel all plans for Oscar weekend,” adding that the star was recovering at home in Los Angeles with her fiancé, Nick Loeb, and planned to watch the show at home like the rest of the country.
According to the Post, the “Modern Family” looked like the picture of good health when she was spotted dining out with Loeb at Boa Steakhouse in West Hollywood two days before the Oscars.
The Daily Mail had reported earlier that the star had canceled her Oscar plans, including an appearance at Madonna’s house because she was hospitalized and undergoing surgery for an undisclosed ailment.
To debunk all the rumors, on Sunday night the star tweeted, “Watching the Oscars at home so I don't give everyone the flu haha!” She also posted a photo of herself in bed.
