Sofia Vergara’s flu illness kept the “Modern Family” star from heading to the Oscars, Zap 2 It reported on Feb. 26.
According to the report, it was rumored that Sofia was seriously ill, or possibly had surgery, which is why she had to miss the 2013 Oscars. However, the “Modern Family” star revealed it was a simple flu that had her down for the count.
Sofia Vergara’s flu illness was rough on the actress. She was hospitalized on Saturday, and by Sunday, was forced to watch the Oscars on television from her L.A. home.
"Watching the Oscars at home so I dont give everyone the flu,” Vergara tweeted during Sunday’s show. Fans know that the flu has been making it’s rounds among celebrities this awards season.
Everyone from Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman, and Meryl Streep have been down with the illness. Thankfully, Sofia seems to be feeling a bit better now.
