Actress Sofia Vergara is fit and fab at 40, and is especially careful with her diet because she's having her eggs frozen in case she wants to have more children down the line.
“I have to be careful what I eat because they’re freezing my eggs!" Vergara told the April 2013 issue of Vogue. “My boyfriend is 37, younger than me, and never had kids."
Sofia has a 21-year-old son, Manolo, from her first marriage years ago, and is now engaged to businessman Nick Loeb. Vergara is undergoing hormone treatment and freezing her eggs so she can have a child with Loeb after they marry. TV host Maria Menounos did the same thing in 2011.
"You have to put first some hormone pills and then after that it is hormone injections," she says. "They want to get as many eggs as they can because usually you produce them but they’re not good. They have to be perfect, perfect, perfect ones."
Vergara, who has parlayed her bombshell good looks into lucrative acting and endorsement gigs, was the highest-paid woman on TV in 2012, raking in an impressive $19 million from fees and endorsements. Kim Kardashian was second, with a cool $18 million.
Despite insisting that "turning 40 was horrible," the stunning Sofia continues to make "sexiest women" lists around the world for her voluptuous beauty.
"I am 40 years old, I had a baby, and I am a 32F [bra size]," she says. "A normal girl will just put the dress on and leave. I need them to be like an armory. My dresses are like a work of art inside. The key for my body is tailoring."
Unlike some celebrities who take their success for granted, the "Modern Family" star enjoys and appreciates her accomplishments.
"All the things that I dreamed in my career to do, all the businesses that I have, like my Kmart collection, all the endorsements that I have and all the charities that I wanted to fund, it’s all because of 'Modern Family,' " she says.
"So I am taking advantage while I can, to make money like I can now. Because why not? It’s part of my job, doing what I like. I never wanted to be an actress [just] to be an actress. I wanted to be an actress or a celebrity with a business."
