Sony Online Entertainment is shutting down four MMOs in its lineup. "Free Realms," "Vanguard: Saga of Heroes," "Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures," and "Wizardry Online" will sunset in a matter of months. The announcement was made today in tandem with news on the new All Access Plan.
Popular kid-friendly MMOs "Free Realms" and "Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures" will close on March 31. "Vanguard: Saga of Heroes" and "Wizardry Online" will no longer be available starting July 31.
Players for each MMO can check out the official announcement on each game's website. Each closure announcement is worded a little differently from the others. With "Free Realms" it's insisted that the playerbase is growing up. For "Vanguard: Saga of Heroes" player population and technical hurdles are mentioned. A mutual agreement is cited to bring down "Wizardry Online" and no real reason is given for "Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures."
Information on closure events, if any, will be announced for each title at a later date.
