Wheaton Park District's Leisure Center and Cosley Zoo are hosting a Sock Hop, with special guests from classic rock: Bob Abrams, formerly of Chicago's own Buckinghams: "Don't You Care?" "Kind of a Drag;" and Mick Broch, formerly of Herman's Hermits; "I'm into Something Good," "I'm Henry the VIII I Am." Come and dance the night away!
The Wheaton Park District's Leisure Center will be hosting the Sock Hop on Friday, October 14, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the Wheaton Park District Community Center, located at 1777 S. Blanchard Road in Wheaton. The doors will open at 7 p.m. Tickets purchased before October 13 are $15 per person and $25 per couple. The cost of a ticket covers live musical entertainment by Broch and Adams, food, prizes, an optional costume contest and more. The live entertainment will be performed by two of the most entertaining guys from the classic rock circuit, playing popular hits from the 50s, 60s and beyond.
