I had the pleasure of attending a Social You event last year, and enjoyed learning about this organization that makes a meaningful effort to merge social engagement and social good. This isn’t your typical happy hour fundraiser; supporters and volunteers of the benefiting organization passionately tell you about their work moving forward smaller, lesser know nonprofits in Washington, DC.
STEMS of Success is a networking and cocktail fundraiser benefiting the Brilliant & Beautiful Foundation, an organization that supports the aspirations of women in scientific research and scientific enterprise. There will also be an auction with items donated from Gaylord National Resort, Google, Washington Nationals, Odyssey Cruises & the Washington Capitals and Jordin's Paradise.
The event is also honoring phenomenal women in STEM fields. Honorees in attendance include Dr. Njema Frazier, Nuclear Weapons Physicist, National Nuclear Security Administration; Dr. Aprille Ericsson, Aerospace Engineer, NASA; Melissa Moritz, Managing Director of STEM Initiative, Teach for America.
