Social Media & Web 2.0 Website Marketing Techniques

It is interesting to see how times have changed and marketing techniques that once seemed pointless can be the core of our business. Take for example prayer for marriage; this may just be another term, but with the help of social media outlets and web 2.0 properties this has become quite popular. Many people now use this as a search phrase in Google, Yahoo, Bing, and other non-traditional search engines such as Facebook and Twitter.

Many of you are wondering what is a prayer for marriage or Ahrefs and why does it relate to social media. To help answer that question I would like to point you in the direction of web 2.0 properties such as Blogger, Wordpress, Tumblr, and others that are now filled with mini blogs about different prayers you can use to help save and improve a marriage. This has recently become a trending topic as many new sites are emerging almost daily on this subject.

If you asked anyone last year what a prayer for marriage was they would look back at you with a blank stare, but now many people are sharing this viral topic with one another. Social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Pinterest, and others are filled with status updates related to marriage and other prayers.

There are many reasons that come into play as to how social media and web 2.0 sites became flooded with these types of posts. One clear answer is people are looking for ways to improve their lives. This has always been a popular search term that many marketers strived to rank for. Self help; self-improvement, etc. are all profitable niches when it comes to inline marketing. Marketers may now have found the secret sauce to help them achieve top rankings in the search engines and they realized that social signals now play a large part in Google’s ranking algorithm.

To have website rank at the top of Google not only do you need good on-site optimization, but you also need to have your site properly optimized off-site and this now includes social media signals. Search engines look to see how many times a post has been liked, shared, commented on, retweeted, etc. The more social shares the more popular the site or page is. It is just like link building as with the more you have the higher you will rank. Google just got a little smarter and now looks at the quality of backinks and will soon do the same with social signals from social media sites.

This just shows you with the proper marketing strategy anyone can turn a phrase into a trending topic. All you need is proper timing, a good pitch, and some good luck on your side and making anything possible with social media and web 2.0 properties.
