Social Media Marketing and Content Creation

Face it. The world is hungry for fresh meaningful content. Google rewards websites and blogs with good content and customers do extensive internet research on the products and services they are considering. Often, the businesses with the best answers – on websites, blogs, newsletters and Facebook – get the business.

Because Google and Bing have admitted that sites with fresh, well-written content on websites and social sites have the edge in search engine results, without this type of content, a website and blog will most likely gather dust in cyberspace. And while good content may be slightly different for Facebook, Twitter and other social platforms, content is what it is all about – even in 140 characters. Posting a cute cartoon or a two-line quip may cause people to share your content, and are important to your overall strategy, but it is your original ideas that will tip the scales in your favor when it comes to purchasing decisions.

Having a defined marketing strategy is important to any business, and may be critical in the area of digital marketing. Newer technologies have new rules, and staying current on when, how and how much to post to social sites, blogs and even websites is the key to having a healthy relationship with customers and potential customers.

Interestingly, business owners, who are content to turn to third parties for traditional marketing programs, believe (or have been told) that in order to stay authentic they must post to social sites and write blogs themselves. This is a recipe for digital marketing failure. Most business owners don’t have the time to post, let alone keep up with the latest platforms, strategies and rules that govern this type of marketing.

This solidifies the argument for hiring a digital marketing company with competent content creators. Having experienced professionals who understand how to engage on the social sites, what to post, how to answer customer questions, and when to refer the questions to the business owner, can propel the company towards the success they seek.
