Sochi Style

As the Olympics begin in Sochi. I noticed many interesting trends from the opening ceremonies and first few days of events. These trends could easily transfer into street wear.

First the US Olympic uniforms for the opening ceremony were awesome. It was a vintage inspired Polo cardigan knitted with the olympic rings the stars and stripes and other important symbols. The athletes also wore hats with USA on them.

Continuing the vintage theme were the uniforms for the snowboarders. They wore off white with a subdued color blocking with stars and stripes on the sleeves of their jackets.

Another cool trend were jackets that started in one color at the top and morphed into another color at the bottom. Sort of like the ombre haircolor that has been so popular. A few countries wore this look.

Many countries also wore bright bold colors for both the opening ceremonies and for their events. These colors would be right at home on the streets of Naperville this winter.
