The Sochi Olympics 2014 schedule for men's ice hockey tournament games has officially been released as of Sunday, Feb. 16. Team USA, after defeating Slovenia 5-1 on Sunday, and their two previous opponents for a perfect start, will get a bye into the quarterfinals and await the winner of a qualification game. The tournament schedule, just made public on Sunday, also reveals who the United States could meet up with in the semifinals and gold medal games.

A CBS Sports report from Feb. 16 shows the recently-released tournament bracket for Sochi. There will be four qualification games, which will produce four teams to enter the quarterfinals. In one game, Slovenia will play Austria with the winner meeting Sweden in the quarterfinals. Russia will play Norway with the winner taking on Finland. Switzerland plays Latvia with the winner moving on to play Canada in the quarterfinals, while Czech Republic battles Slovakia. The winner of that game gets to play Team USA on Wednesday for a quarterfinals matchup.

Should Team USA and Team Canada both win their quarterfinals games, it will set up a rematch of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics Gold Medal game, albeit in the semifinals at Sochi. Meanwhile, host country Russia will have to win three straight games, including their qualification game, to get to the finals, which is where they could possibly get a rematch against Team USA, after Saturday's thrilling overtime shootout game. The United States took that preliminary game 3-2 to win, thanks to T.J. Oshie's heroics in the extra sessions. Of note, Sweden got the top overall spot in the bracket due to winning all three of their games in regulation.

CBS has also noted that the IIHF has yet to release official game times for the qualification games and quarterfinals games, which will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 18, and Wednesday, Feb. 19, respectively. It's expected that NBCSN will continue to broadcast the hockey games for TV viewers, with the NBC Olympics Live website showing live stream coverage to those with access to it.
