The 2014 Winter Olympics Men's hockey live stream and TV schedule continues this Sunday and here in the US fans are catching Olympic Hockey fever! After a thrilling 3-2 win vs. host Russia, Team USA looks to start 3-0 when they take on Slovenia Sunday morning.
According to Bleacher Report on Feb. 15, Team USA is celebrating a great win over the Russians, but they know their work is far from over, and they can't take Slovenia lightly. Slovenia is coming off of their first taste of a hockey victory and would like nothing more than to beat the highly favored American squad.
Slovenia's 3-1 win against Slovakia may not have made major headlines like the US win over the Russian team, but the 18th ranked team in the world of hockey is okay with that. Making its first Olympic appearance in the men's tournament Slovenia could make a name for itself with an upset over the US, and right now they are beaming with confidence.
"This is like a gold medal for us," said Slovenia forward Bostjan Golicic.
"It's definitely a big thing for Slovenia hockey and now that we beat Slovakia, maybe people will not mix us up any more," said Los Angeles Kings center Anze Kopitar, the only NHL player on the Slovenia roster.
The Olympics are a funny thing. Teams that get some momentum, especially teams that aren't supposed to do well, can be the toughest opponents of all.
Vegas odds makers have the US as the favorite in this game at -2, with the over/under set at 6.5.
The puck will once again drop early here in the US for tomorrow's game between Team USA and Slovenia. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. EST and can be seen live on NBC Sports Network and live online at NBC Sports Extra.
