The 2014 Winter Olympic live stream and TV schedule for the Men's Hockey tournament is underway, and tomorrow hockey fans in the US will get their first chance to see the American team hit the ice.
According to USAhockey.com on Feb. 12, Team USA will face Slovakia as the battle for the Olympic Gold Medal begins. US head coach Dan Bylsma announced Wednesday afternoon that Jonathan Quick will start in goal for Thursday's Olympic opening game against Slovakia. The US has three very good goaltenders with them in Russia for the Olympic Games - all of which are more than capable of helping Team USA bring home the Gold.
Jonathan Quick of the Los Angeles Kings is the leader for now, but if needed Jimmy Howard (Detroit Red Wings) and Ryan Miller, (Buffalo Sabres) will be waiting for their chance. Coach Bylsma knows that the US should be strong when it comes to net-minders.
"We're dealing from a position of strength when it comes to the goaltender position," Bylsma said. "A position where we have two very good guys to be in net and Jonathan will be getting the nod."
No game is ever a "guaranteed win" in sports, but the US should win this game.
According to Bovada sports book Las Vegas odds makers have Team USA at -1.5 goals and the over/under number at 5.5. The money lines have the USA -350 with the come back on Slovakia at +275.
