SoCal's Cella Interview: #1 in Netherlands- discusses LA

Dreams realized through perseverance, fate and talent. All of this puts the "LA" in the story of Cella. Like the city of Los Angeles itself, this Southern California musician continues to ride the wave of the music "industry," with all of its ups and downs.

Cella modestly presents her most recent success: "This little pop tune 'When I Know I Love You' was the most requested song on Royal-Radio,Netherlands in the sumer of 2010." Her site adds that the placement puts her "Right next to Cee Lo Greens 'Forget You'." As one can imagine, no one forgets an artist like Cella.

Such is her subtle, genuine nature in every day life, that one can know her for years without her ever mentioning her multitude of music accomplishments. Her love of her family, her winning personality and her thoughtful nature all shine as core to who she is. There is no pretense at all. So imagine the pleasant surprise in suddently discovering her tuneful songs receiving this well earned singer-songwriting success as a soulful pop star, with, at times, a European flavor. Imagine the pleasant joy of unexpectedly seeing her hit #1!!! Your friend is not just a musician but an international hit maker.

With a sweet, subtle vocal touch, Cella's singing still addresses the listener directly, capturing the ear, as she soulfully expresses herself in songs such as "Beg Me To Stay." Hearing her music, no doubt, fans are indeed, begging her to do exactly that.

Cella also carries a unique perspective and penetrating observations about how Los Angeles is misperceived throughout the world, even by musicians within LA as well as in other parts of Southern California:

"I think that the Los Angeles music scene has been misunderstood in the way that so many somehow still expect predominantly 'rock" oriented music to come out of LA. In reality, many of my LA friends are writing country-tinged rock, and/or hip-hop. There is such a thriving hip hop scene in LA. Honestly, LA has an incredibly diverse music scene." It is a scene that defies easy categorization, which is something that could well be said of Cella herself too.

There is so much to celebrate about Cella.  Her creative spirit and energizing approach as a singer-songwriter carry unique qualities. You can look forward to joining in learning surprising, exciting and pleasing info as the interview continues in upcoming articles...
