Sober House with Dr. Drew: Dr. Sophy meets with Mike Starr. 04/20/2010 1300 - In this Sober House bonus clip, Dr. Sophy meets with Mike Starr regarding some psychological issues that he might be facing and encourages him to start living his life.
Dr. Sophy and Mike sit down and talk about the friction with Jenn Gimenez at Sober House. Mike says Jenn creates anxiety and stress in him. Dr. Sophy advises Mike that he has to adhere to the rules and accept Jenn's role at the house. Mike says that he doesnt like her behaving like a "mother hen," but the doctor points out that Jenn is not a peer; she has a different role here.
Dr. Sophy says that there is brain damage from all of the drugs Mike's taken over the years. Will the damage fix itself? He doesn't know. Mike may have to be on something for the rest of his life and the doctor would rather it be something prescribed than street drugs.
Mike has the ability to get himself together at this point, but he has to want it. Dr. Sophy suggests he do it the right way: Balance his brain with the prescribed medications and then and get up and go live his life. It's time to plan out his next steps. This is the longest that Mike has been sober and the doctor tells him " Be happy! (His body doesn't know what to do with this sobriety!)
