As expected, this year's SoBe Wine & Food Festival was a delectable success. Most of the pricey events sold out quickly. The jam-packed-3-day eating and drinking 'contest' welcomed some of the world's best known chefs (Michael Symon, Marcus Samuelsson, Anthony Bourdain, etc.) to the Miami Beach event and encouraged them to prepare a wide assortment of meals for thousands of hungry guests at dozens of locations throughout Miami and Miami Beach.
On hand for the Saturday festivities, Martha Stewart, up-close and very personable. The founder of MS Living Omnimedia and Emmy Award-winning television show host, entrepreneur & bestselling author, gave a monologue under a tent filled with mostly female fans who didn't want her to leave the stage when her culinary demonstration was over. Courteous Martha answered questions about table decorations as well as food preparations and even managed to raise funds for Breast Cancer awareness.
This writer doesn't see the need to include people's ages in her posts, but...Martha is quick to let everyone know that her age is just a number and that her seven decades haven't stopped her from continuing to run her vast empire, write cookbooks, host TV shows, hit the dating scene and even give a 45-minute talk, in 5-inch-high-heel-wedges, under a hot south beach tent. Wow.
