As wine production continues to grow in the United States at epic proportions, wineries are constantly popping up in many areas of the country. The Brandywine Valley is no exception to this rule and the area is even making a claim at becoming a bona fide wine destination. Leading the way in the region, and the state of Pennsylvania for that matter, is the Chaddsford Winery.

Chaddsford Winery was founded in 1982 by Eric and Lee Miller and is located on the sprawling land of the Brandywine Valley on Baltimore Pike in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. The winery itself is a renovated 17th-century barn that provides a homey feel when visiting and tasting the ample variety of wines.

A major draw to the winery is its outdoor area. On the weekends, the winery is famous in the area for its outdoor musical acts that range from jazz to acoustics to oldies. You can bring your own picnic lunch or dinner, grab a table and a bottle of wine and enjoy.

Chaddsford Winery has delicious wines aplenty. Arguably the most popular wine that is being produced here is the Chaddsford Spring Wine, which is a light, fruity offering that is perfect to drink while sitting outside and soaking up the rays and noshing on a picnic lunch or dinner. Chaddsford has an exceptional offering of reds, whites and blushes that may well rival any winery on the East Coast.

Come summer time, Chaddsford Winery begins their Grilling Weekends, which take place starting the weekend of May 31 and continue every weekend through the end of June. These weekends will feature a food vendor every day and will feature the best grilled foods that the summer has to offer. The winery staff will provide advice on what wines will pair best with the grilled food.

On the list of must-visit attractions in the Brandywine Valley, Chaddsford Winery may very well be towards the top, complementing such heavy hitters as Longwood Gardens. The winery attracts visitors near and far and it certainly is a must-visit for self-proclaimed wine connoisseurs. The warm weather months are the time to come if you have never been.
