Are you getting excited for So You Think You Can Dance?
For West Coast viewers there will be live coverage here, at this link, starting at 9PM PST.
It's only a few hours to go before we find out who is being sent home. Results of a fan poll at SYTYCDism indicate that viewers feel Asuka and Jonathan should leave the competition. During last night's live coverage, yours truly had nominated Phillip and Karla for the axe.
Looking at trends on various sites, it would seem that fans feel the bottom three should comprised of: Karla and Jonathan, Asuka and Vitolio and Caitlin and Jason.
Lots of sad news today about Farrah and Michael.
Mary Murphy has just tweeted "Michael Jackson just passed away. I am so sad and crying in my dressing room, this will be a hard show to get through tonight ."
Adam Shankman tweeted his thoughts on Michael Jackson as well, "Just meditating on the meaning of the three surreal entertainers deaths. Michael, I believe yours and lifes rules were at odds... I pray you finally find peace now."
Also on Twitter, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger had this to say about MJ, "We lost a great entertainer and a pop icon. My thoughts and prayers go out to Michael Jackson's family, friends and fans."
Michael influenced the world of entertainment and dance in ways that few people ever have. Earlier in this year's season of SYTYCD, we saw clips of a young Jason emulating Michael Jackson, his boyhood hero. Let's not forget the fabulous "Crash Test Dummies" choreographed by Wade Robson. According to Wikipedia, Robson began dancing at the age of two, and when he saw the music video to the hugely popular "Thriller" song, he had it memorized by the time he was three. He appeared on the Australian TV talent show New Faces 4 in 1986. He performed a dance routine of the Jackson hit "Smooth Criminal," complete with a miniature version of the outfit as depicted in the video. He won the competition, and the prize was a chance to meet Jackson. When Jackson himself toured Australia the following year for the Bad tour, Robson's routines and costumes came to Jackson's attention. Jackson was so impressed, he invited Robson to perform at his Brisbane concert.
How many other dancers and entertainers can trace back their influences to MJ?
Tonight's show will definitely be packed with emotion.

Whew! A few technical issues, but now we are all set.....Here we go!
The opening number is great! Love the focus on the ladies. Kayla looks fantastic, but all the ladies are given a chance to look spicy! Tabitha and Napoleon did a great job, my favorite routine of theirs this year by far!
Wow, Cat has a Farrah inspired outfit going on.
Expected Ed, Farrah and Michael tribute by Nigel. Yes, Thriller was a fabulous, landmark video.
Big breath, first five couples...Here we go! Asuka looks worried, SYTYCDism thinks she has something to worry about based on its poll...Are they right? YES they are! Okay, so far we are accurate with our predictions.
Brandon & Janette, do they have anything to fret? Not if our polling is right! YES! They are safe. Randi and Evan really had a strong fan reaction. I wasn't particularly taken, but everybody else was. They should be safe. SAFE. No shock.
Jeanine & Phillip: Oooo, I don't like Phillip. Are they safe? Our polling thinks they should be safe. YES! So far we are spot on!
Melissa & Ade? Should have no problems. They were fabulous with that Rhumba. Wonderful. If they aren't safe, I don't know who would be! Survey says? SAFE
Karla & Jonathan: They should be in BIG trouble. If polling is accurate, Jonathan had better make some new plans. Nigel is taking bets. We can't all be wrong. BOTTOM! Knew it!
Caitlin & Jason: This makes me sad, but all polling indicates these two are in trouble. Did my phone call save them?
Kupono & Kayla: Wonderful stuff. They are safe, of that I am quite sure....
No shocker. Wow! So far predictions are 100 percent SPOT ON!!! Now, if the polls from websites that I visited today are accurate, then Asuka and Jonathan are on their way home.
Rage Boys Crew performs: God, I hope none of these boys end up like MJ!
Solo time...
Asuka: I thought she did a good job, wife Gail was rather "meh" about it.
Vitolio: Lots of leaping energy. Fun energy. Gail thought he was cocky.
Karla: No great shakes. I think this could be it for her!
Jonathan: Fans think he is a goner. Can he change minds? Gail says "not bad." I say "not great"
Couple more solos to go!
And we are back!
Caitlin: Her solos are great and let's be honest, she was stuck with the Paso Doble last night.
Jason: Gail doesn't like this routine, thinks it was the weakest. I'm not nearly as critical as her.
Okay...So now that we have seen these performances, I'd say that it is Karla and Jonathan, but polling would indicate Asuka instead of Karla. Nigel really dissed Karla and Jonathan last night and Toni pretty much said the same tonight although she didn't say actual names. To me it is clear: Jonathan and Karla. Gail says Jason and Karla. Who is right?
The Veronicas...So much better than last week's throw away performance by Kristinia DeBarge.
Deep breaths everybody! Here we go....
Caitlin: Best solo! Yes, she is safe. Thank you!!!
Karla: looked desperate. not a good solo.
Asuka: Looks very scared. Nigel thinks that she is not growing. Buh-Bye!
Wow, the poll was right! Karla got a pass, but will she be as lucky next week?
Awww, Asuka will miss Vitolio. I really hadn't liked her, but last night she won me over.
Vitolio: Shows promise, but doesn't deliver. Nigel says he cannot hold back.
Jonathan: Poll says that he should be in trouble. Nigel says that last night was not good.
Jason: Solo was full of desperation. But he is safe!
Jonathan is headed home! Vitolio is safe and deservedly so.
Okay, so the polls were SPOT ON. The fans don't lie! Tonight, justice was served even if my two picks didn't get the chop.
Thanks for hanging in there everybody. Sorry about the delay in getting started: These things will happen. I will be going thru and cleaning up the post later on, but for now it's a wrap!

Comments
Loved the opening number too. Finally a good routine from the married choreographers.
Why does Phillip have so much support?
Spicy,
Yeah! You know it! Loved that number and it reminded me why I was crazy about Tabitha and Napoleon last year...I had begun to wonder why I was!
I have no idea why Phillip gets so much crowd support. I just can't see it myself!
Got something to say?
