'So You Think You Can Dance' recap: Season six Top 10 perform on week six show

The "So You Think You Can Dance" season six Top 10 performed on the week six show, December 1, 2009.

Along with the two couple performances, each dancer also had to perform a solo routine in their style. Noelle was definitely one of my favorite performances. She was beautiful and sweet, yet she had moments of strength in her choreography. She also had so much passion in her eyes. Also, "Legacy" blew me out of the water. His choreography was mind boggling, and his song choice, "No Air," was perfect because he definitely took my breath away. Unbelievable!

First performances

Noelle and Ryan - Hip-Hop

  • Adam - Great moment for Ryan on the show
  • Nigel - Noelle's dance technique was really strong; Ryan may have missed the funk and been too strong
  • Mary - Great chemistry; Great routine; Noelle was completely believable
  • Manchester TV Examiner - Amazing choreography; Surprised with how well Ryan did, although he wasn't the best Hip-Hop dancer we've seen

Ashleigh and "Legacy" - Contemporary

  • Adam - Loved that neither dancer looked afraid of the difficult choreography put in front of them
  • Nigel - Effort was fantastic for such a touch and demanding routine
  • Mary - Loved the different leaps and uses of each other's bodies
  • Manchester TV Examiner - Out of sync at times; Didn't really understand the choreography; "Legacy" looked really strong; Ashleigh did better than I would've expected but this just didn't fit her; Loved the head stand at the end

Kathryn and Nathan - Broadway

  • Adam - So relieved to see Nathan finally come out confident
  • Nigel - Both dancers fit the style perfectly; Didn't feel that Kathryn's chemistry with Nathan was up to par
  • Mary - Kathryn floats and makes everything look so easy; Nathan surprised Mary by not having any trouble with the style
  • Manchester TV Examiner - Super sweet; Incredible footwork; Absolutely beautiful to watch; One of my favorite routines of the season; Kathryn stood out like a bright ray of sunshine

Ellenore and Jakob - Quickstep

  • Adam - Thrilled with the pairing; Loved it
  • Nigel - Couple seemed very comfortable together; Jakob needs to watch his body line a little
  • Mary - Loved the choreography
  • Manchester TV Examiner - Footwork was very nice; Felt like I was getting everything from Jakob, possibly due to choreography choices; Loved the in sync leaps; When dancers broke hold for solo side-by-side pieces Jakob out shined Ellenore

Mollee and Russell - Lyrical Jazz

  • Adam - Always impressed with the way Russell has molded to partner, contemporary dances; Mollee was beautiful and shined so much
  • Nigel - Beautiful choreography; Can't believe how much Mollee has grown in just one week; So proud of Russell's improvement
  • Mary - Loved the partnership; Very believable; Mollee seemed to feed off of Russell's strength
  • Manchester TV Examiner - Very difficult choreography; The difficult choreography seemed to cause some hiccup moments/moments to think about what they were about to do; Could've been a lot more sensual; Lacked connection; Didn't stand out as special when it really should have

Second performances

Noelle and Ryan - Smooth Waltz

  • Adam - Really, really good; Felt a little high at times because the routine was so perfect; Noelle and Ryan are a power partnership
  • Nigel - Would like to see more softness in Noelle's neck and more looking up
  • Mary - Noelle had a beautiful flowing movement tonight; Ryan dominated the routine in the right way
  • Manchester TV Examiner - Lines were very nice; Loved the connection and chemistry; Enjoyed the moments when they broke hold for individual pieces; The turns and lifts were fantastic

Ashleigh and "Legacy" - Hip-Hop

  • Adam - Wasn't challenging enough for this point of the competition
  • Nigel - Didn't feel it; Didn't feel like there was enough dancing, especially with "Legacy" in a Hip-Hop routine; Musicality wasn't there
  • Mary - Just didn't work
  • Manchester TV Examiner - Loved the use of "Legacy"'s cape; Still not really feeling the connection; Choreography was OK; Not one of my favorite routines for either dancer; Just couldn't get in to it

Kathryn and Nathan - Rumba

  • Adam - Loved that Kathryn was dancing with passion, like she was competing
  • Nigel - Dancing and lines were good; Missed the ballroom pieces of it
  • Mary - Felt it lacked passion; Nathan did a great job with the Rumba walk; There were some awkward moments
  • Manchester TV Examiner - Surprised by how well this pair did; Very sexy; Definitely felt the heat; Loved Nathan's personality in this performance; Kathryn was absolutely amazing and once again proved that she belongs in the competition

Ellenore and Jakob - Contemporary

  • Adam - This performance will leave a forever impression on fans of the show
  • Nigel - Nigel was screaming in excitement; Called both dancers brilliant; Felt the pair had rewritten the rules for chemistry; This was his favorite routine of the season; Not sure anything has been so perfect
  • Mary - Unbelievable how in sync everything was; Really put themselves ahead of the pack
  • Manchester TV Examiner - Ellenore was outstanding, and she is really growing on me; Didn't think anyone could live up to Jakob until I saw him dance with Ellenore; So much passion from both dancers; Just an amazing routine

Mollee and Russell - Jive

  • Adam - Love the respect; Great to have Mollee back
  • Nigel - This routine had no problem following Jakob and Ellenore; Two of the best performers
  • Mary - Definitely feeling the chemistry
  • Manchester TV Examiner - Such a fun routine; Absolutely impressed with both dancers technique and personality; Surprised that Russell was as strong and was actually the stronger one for this performance; Mollee had a few issues with her arm placements

Next episode - Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009: Two dancers will be sent home, making the Top 10 a Top 8
