Fans of Star Wars are a dedicated sort. Some collect Star Wars gadgets and memorabilia; some even have entire rooms dedicated to their passion. There is one “gadget”, though, that they would probably give up all of their prized Star Wars possessions for, and that is a stunning, state-of-the-art Star Wars themed home theater.
There are a few of these in the world, but this one really shows you what potential home cinema can have. It’s located in Seattle, Washington, and was built by two former presidents of the “Official Star Wars Fan Club”.
Here are some specifics of the design and features of this amazing Star Wars themed home theater (make sure you watch the slideshow to get an idea of just how cool this theater is):
Outside the theater main doors, you will see posters of the Phantom Menace and the Clone wars animated series in poster cases. The theater doors open to posters of the three original Star Wars movies on a wall, just as it is when you go to the movies and the double doors open and you are facing a wall and then go either to the left or right and then enter the actual theater. When you first enter, you will find Hans Solo frozen in kryptonite, welcoming you into the theater.
The next thing you’ll notice is that this Star Wars home cinema is modeled after the command deck on an Imperial Star Destroyer from The Empire Strikes Back. The theater runs a little over twenty feet from the screen to the back wall. In between you will find three rows of theater seats.
And what is a theater without awesome sound and a crystal clear picture? This home theater boast a Pioneer Laserdisc Player, Meridian 800 DVD Player, Meridian 861 Preamp, Crestron Theater Remote and a Monster HTS3600 Power Center; with complete THX compatible surround sound.
Life size figures of C-3PO, Boba Fetta, and Han Solo complete the effect.
Added note: The owners of the theater did not stop with a Star Wars theater: They have a Star Wars memorabilia room and a game room, complete with R2-D2 robots and arcade games (Star wars themed, of course).
“Remember, the force is with you always.” (Obi wan Kenobi, A New Hope).
In this theater, it would probably be hard to forget.
