School has started for some communities while others are getting ready to follow. The days are cooler and daylight is shorter. But, with the turning of the seasons comes great fun around the Dayton and surrounding areas. Here is a list of the top must events this weekend.
City of Beavercreek Movie in the Park

Date: August 15 at 7 p.m.
Enjoy a free movie under the stars with the whole family. The City of Beavercreek will be playing "The Lego" movie in the park. Enjoy a night of great food, inflatables for the kids, and a great movie. Make sure to bring blankets or lawn chairs for comfort. It should be a great night for this event.

Love food truck creations? Then this is the festival for you. From grilled meat to delicious desserts, the Food Truck Festival is two days of food, food and more food. The traveling trucks allow the chefs to create like never before and have the versatility to show off their talents. Along with the great food, the festival is completed by hundreds of craft booths and live music.
Bellbrook Lion's Club Annual Festival
Dates: August 14-16
The Bellbrook Lion's Club holds one fundraiser and year and this one is spectacular. The money raised from this event goes back into the community throughout the year though the charitable work of the Lion's Club. The festival is a great time for the members to learn about the needs of the community but also to see the effects their work and help. Enjoy three days of great food, carnival rides, music, games, raffles and be entered for a chance to win $10,000 on Saturday night. Bring the family out for a Saturday afternoon fun beginning at 4:00 for their annual parade.
Fairborn Sweet Corn Festival
Dates: August 15-16
This is the time of year for the best corn on the cob. So, what better way to celebrate it than having a Sweet Corn Festival. This annual event is packed with activities, contests, demonstrations and more. If you thought you knew every recipe for corn, you are fooling yourself. Come enjoy this great event with the whole family.
Dayton Hispanic Festival
Dates: August 16
Experience the river like never before. Get the blood pumping with the high energy bands playing all day with multiple stages going at once. Browse the many booths and enjoy some great Mexican food while the kids splash around in the interactive fountain at Riverscape. Relax in the warmth of the sun and find a new favorite band at the same time.
