Stanford junior Joslyn Tinkle had a season-high 22 points, and Chiney Ogwumike had more points and more rebounds than her more celebraqted onlder sister again, and that has become a regular occrrence the past few weeks.
It was more of a footnote than a point of significance on Saturday, as Stanford, which had struggled a bit in its past two conference games against Cal and against Arizona State, took Arizona apart in a 91-51 victory over th Wildcats in Tucson.
It was the 68th consecutive conference victory for the No. 4 Cardinal (20-1, 11-0), which notched its 20th victory for the 11th straight season and is in good position for its fifth straight 30-win season.
Saturday's 20th win was merely formality, as the Cardinal scored the first 10 points of the game and was never challenged.
Tinkle had her 22 points and 11 rebounds in just 25 minutes of action. She also made 3 of 4 three-point shots, which could come in handy down the line. The Ogwumike sisters played even less. Sophomore Chiney had 18 points, 10 boards and four blocks in 22 minutes, and senior Nneka had 15 points and six rebounds in 23 minutes.
Freshman Amer Orrange hit all five of her shots and scored 10 points.
The only downside may have been Bonnie Samuelson 0-for-5 shooting on three-pointers. She's not going to be a major factor coming down the stretch, but it would be nice to have a consistent outside threat coming off the bench.
