Another Thoroughbred racehorse is headed East – to Hokkaido, Japan. So Many Ways, a multiple graded stakes winner, has been sold to Katsumi Yoshida by her owner, Maggi Moss. The announcement of the sale was made September 23
So Many Ways is by Sightseeing out of Happy Scene by Dehere. She was purchased for $22,000 at Fasig-Tipton Maryland in 2011.
The mare earned $717,148 from five wins in 10 starts. She was the victor in the Grade 3 Schuyerville, the Grade 1 Spinaway, and the Grade 3 Eight Belles. On September 21 she ended her racing career by winning the $400,000 Charles Town Oaks.
Moss acknowledged Jim Schenck of Lexington, Kentucky for the filly’s discovery and Franklin Smith of Elloree, South Carolina for his developing her. Moss also had special thanks for both Tony Dutrow for her Saratoga wins and Tom Amoss for her amazing 2013 wins.
Most of all, it is not her tenaciousness or athleticism that I will remember, but her kind and almost human personality, that made this decision so difficult. I am confident that her new home with Mr. Yoshida, alongside Azeri, Zazu, Musical Romance and other great mares, that she will be amongst royalty and taken care of in the same loving and wonderful environment. Albeit, while it was a very difficult decision, I know she will be loved as much as we all loved her and live a life fit for the queen that she is.
So Many Ways was Pennsylvania bred and received her training by Dutrow and Amoss.
Everyone wishes So Many Ways the best!
