Did you know that there are an estimated 32 million bloggers on the internet today? Even if only one-half of these bloggers produced daily articles, this represents a massive amount of information being produced daily on a variety of topics, industries and even specific companies. Personally I am an avid follower of approximately 75 blogs and being an avid marketing mind and humorist, I can find some of my best material through this source!
The question remains, how can one possibly follow this much information consistently on such a frequent basis?
Subscription/Reader Service
Out of all the options available, Google Reader, a subscription service, offers the most reliable and easy to use platform and if you are a Google account holder, it is already included in the service. How is that for easy? To use, simply enter the search information out and enter the appropriate blog information you wish to follow into the subscription box and click subscribe and the blog is added to your follow list.
Social Media
Most bloggers have accounts on the major social networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) and most use social networks to share their posts. While the other two methods offer better ways to stay on top of blog posts, social media may be better for someone who doesn’t check in often on blogs. Instead of following the actual blog via email or adding the blog to a reader, follow your favorite bloggers social accounts. You will see their quips about their posts and can read them when you feel inclined.
Many bloggers offer email notification when they have produced a new blog or post. Often there is an option to enter your name and email address on a given blog site that enables you to receive these real time notifications. Most blog sites available offer a similar option to this.
