Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 11, 2014. If you still have no idea what to get mom this year, have no worries! The 2nd Street Market has you covered! In addition to all the great gift ideas mentioned in a previous article, Maria’s Unique Foods and MONCO Enterprises have some spectacular items for offer!
Michael and Maria Allen have a wonderful booth at the 2nd Street Market with all sorts of delicious foods and great gift items. Most of the products offered are made by Amish and Mennonite families, and include unique flavors of jams, fruit butters and wine jellies, cobbler and pie fillings, salsas, pickled foods, mustards and more. Maria’s also has beautiful handmade quilted coasters, hot pads and pot holders. You can create your own custom gift basket for mom!
A little further east in the market, the MONCO Enterprises shop offers jewelry, gifts & crafts created by Montgomery County residents with disabilities. MONCO provides employment opportunities, work training, placement services and employment support for individuals with developmental disabilities. The items offered in the shop range from wonderful handmade dog biscuits to handcrafted jewelry, stationery, extraordinarily beautiful handcrafted gift wrap, beautiful and unique customized bottle openers, and more.
Visit the many vendors at the 2nd Street Market tomorrow from 11 to 3 pm or Saturday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m and find just the right gift for mom.
