So as usual I’m a couple of weeks behind the latest story or the holidays. I totally missed on coming to you before December 21, better known as 12-21-12, didn’t even print anything for Christmas or New Year’s Eve.
But here I am, the first week of January, trying to catch up to all the excitement that surrounded this holiday season. First, let me say that I am happy that there was no major damage done on December 21st. We survived and it seems that it was more of a Hollywood story than reality.
We all remember the movie that was released, well actually movies:
• 2012 - An epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors. *
• 2012: Ice Age - A volcanic eruption in Iceland sends a glacier towards North America, causing everything in its path to freeze. A family man struggles to escape the onslaught of the coming ice age. *
• 2012 Doomsday - On December 21, 2012 four strangers on a journey of faith are drawn to an ancient temple in the heart of Mexico. For the Mayans it is the last recorded day. For NASA scientists it is a cataclysmic polar shift. For the rest of us, it is Doomsday. *
They all talked about some catastrophic moment in 2012 when the world would collapse and only a hand full of selected folks, who I’m not sure if in the movies, is clear what religion they are, are saved and left behind to re-populate the world.
The only thing clear is that the world either starts to fall apart or freezes or burns. Either way it’s not pretty. But the reality was so far from the truth that I chuckle as I write this line. The reality is that, in my opinion this was a beginning.
My Light Night group had a “21st – End of World Party”, well, it was a mixture of group night/Christmas party/let’s see if the world ends party. We shared food, danced, did some spiritual work and connected in a way we hadn't before.
I’m not sure if it was the idea that some big changes were coming, that we felt more connected than before, that the world seemed calmer. It could have been that for that night everyone was anticipating something to happen. What? Who knows, but something!
I really don’t have anything specific or brilliant to tell you in this story, other than I felt the change within myself. I want to contribute more to the overall energy of the world. I want to spread happiness, confidence, and creativity.
I want to know more people, have closer friends, and find my one true love. I want to see flowers bloom; birds fly higher, and the Sun shine brighter. I want to know that the scare of 12-21-12 was all worth it.
So I hope that the memories of 2012 are well stored in your mind and heart. That you have free space for the adventures of 2013 and as I wrote to many of my friends, I will wish the same to you:
May 2013 bring you Health & Prosperity. That it come full of; Love, Faith & Hope and your Dreams be big and all your Goals reached… Happy New Year 2013!!!
