Hang 10! This is the spot for surfers. Get on your board and go! The waves crash perfectly into the shore, making even a beginner look like a seasoned pro.
Leo Carrillo State Park
Leo Carillo is 28 miles north of Santa Monica. It offers sea caves and tidepools to explore. There is also spots to set up a picnic, and there is camping space available as well as a place to park your RV. If you want to go camping on the beach, this is the spot for you.
There is nowhere as eclectic in beachside California as Venice Beach. As you stroll along the seaside path, vendors, psychics and even political groups call your name. And let's not forget the people! Look out for Harry Perry, he man in a turban wearing roller blades. Or spy on the buff bodies in Muscle Beach. Either way it's sure to be an interesting time.
El Matador Beach
This beach is truly for those in love. It's 10 miles northwest of Malibu and offers bouldery cliff sides and hardy waves to jump into holding hands. You can also draw “I love you” in the sand. It's the perfect place for a romantic dinner date.
Santa Monica Beach
The Santa Monica Pier here says it all. There are rides, games and fun for the whole family. Ride the Ferris Wheel. Or if you're afraid of heights ride your bike on the sprawling bike path that runs adjacent to the beach.
So get out there! There's no excuse not to go to the beach!
