Snowshoeing Field Trip

How cool would learning how to snowshoe be?  Well, first we’ll have to hope for some snow around here.  If we happen to get any February 7th through February 10th you may want to consider packing up the kids and heading off to Monee Reservoir, which is part of the Will County Forest Preserve District, located at 27341 Ridgeland Ave, Monee, IL.   Come out any time between 8am and 4pm to experience a self-guided wintery hike on snowshoes with over two miles of trails to explore.  Snowshoe rentals are $10 (cash) per person and require a valid drivers license, which also gets you a free large cup of hot chocolate to warm you up on your return.  This event is geared towards those ages 7 and up.  Check in at the Visitors Center for your rentals and information.  Reservations are not required.  You can find more information about this event by visiting the Will County Forest Preserve District website here.
