Snowpiercer. The title alone sounds dangerous and gloomy. What is it? Where did it come from? Snowpiercer is a South Korean sci-fi action thriller film based on the based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob & Benjamin Legrand and Jean-Marc Rochette and is in the stages of being turned into an American film starring Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, John Hurt, and Jamie Bell. It takes place in a somewhat dystopic future where a failed global-warming experiment has killed off most of the life on the planet, a class system evolves aboard the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe via a perpetual-motion engine.
For years this has existed as a French graphic novel and, thanks to the folks at Titan Comics, has now been translated into English for your enjoyment and Volume 1 is now on shelves. Head out to your local comic shop to pick up a copy and follow the adventures of social classes as they try to move from one end of the train toward the other.
