Rain or snow, sometimes we need to find ways to entertain and occupy our children when they can't go outside. Sure, television is an option, but it doesn't develop creativity. Here's a list of fun kids' activities that can boost their creativity and while keeping them entertained:
Build a fort: And no, I don't mean in Minecraft. I mean a real life fort with blankets! Forts are great fun for kids.
Make a cardboard box-house: It's a well-known fact that most kids just love boxes; they also love playhouses. Find a big box and transform it into a playhouse. They can have a lot of fun coloring the outside, decorating the inside, and playing pretend.
Bake a new type of cookie: Baking is a great activity during those cold days. Put a spin on it by asking your child to add an ingredient he/she might think is fun, like M&Ms or colored candies. You could also decorate the tops with happy, funny faces, or try to create a depiction of your child's favorite cartoon character.
Create-a-book: Help your child create their own storybook using paper and colored pencils or crayons. It doesn't have to end, either. Create a story that continues, so you always know where to pick up later. (Save the books. This is great memorabilia.)
This isn't an extensive list. Multiple resources can be found on the web with free templates for drawing and ideas for crafting and games. There are many kids' activities to do indoors if you use your imagination.
