A strong area of low pressure well offshore and an associated upper level disturbance which brought accumulating snow to the region overnight will move away this afternoon with snow tapering off. High pressure will then build into the region for the weekend with sunny skies and milder temperatures. It will then turn unsettled with rain showers into the early part of next week as a slow moving frontal system approaches.
