Snow ski board tube Southern Michigan day trips from Lansing

Michigan is a true winter wonderland and offers thousands of acres of fun in the snow. While there may not be the best opportunities for snow skiing, boarding or tubing in the city of Lansing you will find a wide variety of ski areas and resorts close enough for a day trip from Lansing or Jackson.

If you think we haven’t received enough of the fluffy white stuff to get in some great runs on the slopes have no fear all of the ski areas listed here as well as most others in Michigan also have snowmaking equipment so as long as we have the cool temperatures you can rest assured you will have snow and a wonderful time.

Most of the slopes near Lansing also offer night skiing so if you just want to head out for a few hours after work on weekdays that’s an option too. You can also grab a snack or dinner at most of the resorts.   A few other great amenities offered include: instructions, rentals, kids programs, and special events.

The Lansing City Guide would highly recommend Indianhead Mountain in the Upper Peninsula for a weekend or week of the best skiing available having spent many a weekend there herself while attending school in Wisconsin.

We Michiganders know how to laugh at ourselves and this poem by unknown author is just one example of not only Michigan humor but winter in Michigan.

It's winter here in Michigan
And the gentle breezes blow
