Snow in Nashville? Head to Opry Mills for indoor family fun

With more snow falling in Nashville it’s time to highlight another great Nashville indoor family travel attraction. If you are traveling to Nashville and need to find a fun indoor family activity the mall may be the last place you’d think to look but the mammoth sized Opry Mills is a great escape for family fun when the days get snowy, rainy, or otherwise unbearable.

Bass Pro Shops
This homage to all thinks outdoors draws kids in with their towering dioramas of nature scenes, old fashioned shooting gallery and an aquarium where you can get nose-to-glass-to-nose with a catfish as big as Junior.

Rainforest Café & The Aquarium Restaurant
While we’re on the topic of fish, Rainforest Café and its sister the Aquarium Restaurant each feature colorful fish that will entertain the young ones when service is a little slow. The Aquarium Restaurant also features a carousel and a touch tank with de-stingered sting rays.

Glow Golf
Who doesn’t like a little game of miniature golf, especially when you don’t have to worry about hitting the ball into oncoming traffic? Glow Golf gives you the parental peace of mind that comes from an indoor setting with the psychedelic effects of neon paint and black light that will keep even the coolest teens entertained.

Gibson Guitar Showcase
If you have a budding musician in the family, the Gibson Guitar Showcase allows them to try out banjos, guitars and other stringed instruments. Plus, during certain hours, you can watch master craftsmen create custom stringed instruments on site.

IMAX
The only 3-D IMAX theater in middle Tennessee provides an immersive movie going experience that will keep even the shortest attention spans mesmerized as characters not only come to life but also come off the screen.

Dave & Busters
You may have left home to get your kids away from video games but the gaming center that is Dave & Busters is sure to be a draw for them, and you. Most games here are not the shoot-em-up blood and guts, rather they are the competition games like racing and sports. Be sure to keep an eye on your kids because there are two exits, one to the mall and one to more seating.
