Snow delays some shows while others keep going

With the snowfall hitting double digits on some hills today, many Seattle businesses are shutting up shop early on Jan. 18. Local arts groups are taking the same tack, canceling where practical and offering ticket exchanges.

Seattle Art Museum and Pacific Science Center closed their exhibitions, but Pacific Science Center is keeping their IMAX theaters open for tonight’s scheduled films. Storm chaser Sean Casey and his TIV will be at the 7:30 p.m. showing of Tornado Alley 3D.

Seattle Repertory Theatre will move ticketholders for tonight’s canceled performance of Bill Cain’s How To Write A New Book For The Bible to another evening. Call them for more information at 206-443-2222.

Seattle Opera is planning to go forward with the performance of Attila at McCaw Hall tonight. Check their website for more information on ticket exchanges. Their box office is open shortened hours today.

Cavalia’s premiere at King County’s Marymoor Park has been postponed until tomorrow, (Thursday, Jan. 19) at the same start time, 8 p.m. All tickets for tonight's show were automatically transferred to tomorrow’s show.

January 19 Update

With the ice storm and more snow, even the most optimistic groups started looking at shifting performances to different dates. Cavalia once again postponed their premiere, announcing that Jan. 18 ticketholderw would now be transferred to a newly scheduled Jan. 22 show at 7 pm.
