With temps well below freezing and roads covered in ice, most of us are longing for warmer weather as we trudge through the snow to our neighborhood bars and restaurants to soothe our cabin fever. As you get ready to head out, remember that just because its cold out does not give you an excuse to look less than stylish.
Combat the cold this week in a stylishly sleek puffer, like this one from Moncler available at Bloomingdales, that screams ski slopes not Puff Daddy circa 1994. Keep your toes warm and dry as you venture out in a pair of Hunter Boa tall wellies, available at Neiman Marcus, as an alternative to the Uggs you’ve been wearing for years. Now that your feet are covered slip on a pair of gloves to protect your manicure from winter’s drying winds, these Echo Studded Cuff gloves add a bit of edge to your look without overdoing it. Finish off your snow day look with a circle scarf that stays put no matter which way the wind blows, and a knitted cap that won’t give you hat hair when you finally take it off.
Speaking of taking it off, since we all know you shouldn’t wear coats indoors be sure to wear something equally chic under your coat. Nothing spoils a style moment like taking off a gorgeous coat to reveal a big fashion don’t underneath. Keep your look simple, like the updated Fair Isle Marc by Marc Jacobs sweater and jegging combination, and go for items that keep you warm without adding too much bulk, you don’t want to end up like the kid from a Christmas Story who couldn’t put his arms down once he zipped his coat.
Whatever your snow day week plans are, be sure to keep stay warm, safe and stylish.
