Calvin Broadus (a.k.a. “Snoop Dog”) didn’t make it back from Mexico this weekend without a drug-sniffing canine turning his doggie nose up at the rapper’s tour bus along a West Texas Sierra Blanca highway checkpoint. Seems a border agent smelled marijuana emanating from Snoop’s ride Saturday, and put the drug sniffing dog to work. The amount of stash was minimal and described by Snoop as personal use – several joints total.
According to the Associated Press:
… In all, 0.13 pounds of the drug were found.
Broadus admitted the drug was his and was released, the sheriff's office said. Broadus' agent didn't immediately respond to a request for comment Monday. In interviews, the rapper has said he has a license to use medical marijuana in his home state of California because he suffers from migraines and blurred vision.
Authorities issued Snoop a misdemeanor drug possession citation before releasing him.
And according to TMZ:
The Justice of the Peace in Hudspeth County, TX tells TMZ, Snoop can resolve the entire matter by paying a $537 fine ... unless he wants to challenge the citation, in which case he can make his case in court.
