Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is fitter than ever after losing 50 pounds less than a year after giving birth to son Lorenzo, but is annoyed by critics who insist she has gotten too skinny.
“People are jerks. I don’t look emaciated, I look healthy!” Snooki told InTouch Sept. 4. "My arms still jiggle when I wave. I’m 4-foot-9, so weighing 96 pounds is normal for me."
Polizzi, who previously tipped the scales at 146 pounds, shed the fat by following a 1,300-calorie-a-day diet and working out every day. She also overhauled her lifestyle by drastically cutting back on alcohol consumption and partying.
Snooki, who's a fan of CrossFit, typically does a combination of weight-training and cardio exercise, both with a trainer and on her own. The former "Jersey Shore" star continues to watch her diet and hit the gym daily to maintain her weight loss. “People ask me why I’m still working out," she said. "I’ll gain the weight back if I don’t."
Polizzi, 25, is currently training to compete on season 17 of "Dancing With the Stars." While most contestants want to lose weight during the grueling reality TV competition, Snooki's goal isn't to slim down further.
"I really want a butt," she told ABC News. "I have like a pancake butt, so I'd like a little bump. I definitely don't want to lose my muscles. I'm still training with my trainer so I can keep my muscles. I think I'm going to be in great shape after this."
Season 17 of "Dancing With the Stars," which will feature Valerie Harper, premieres Sept. 16.
