Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi from "Jersey Shore" and "Dancing With the Stars" revealed a secret that she has harbored since high school. She suffered from anorexia in 2010. Being a cheerleader was an important part of her high school days. She said that she started out being anorexic, but as time went on, her condition worsened. When she looked in the mirror, or stepped on the scale, she didn't like what she say. She grew terrified that she would lose her cheerleading spot to some 70-pound freshman.
“ And I was like, my spot as a flier is going to get taken away. So I ended up starving myself. I started eating one salad a day, and then it became, like, one cracker a day, and then it became just one grape a day. And then... just not eating at all for three days. It was a really, really, bad time for me."
Just like Valerie Harperused this time on Dancing with the Stars to enjoy life and to opportunity give people a message that they should "always keep trying, no matter what they face," Nicolis doing the same thing. she is using this time to push beyond her troubled past and reach better times.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Nicole explained the reason why she revealed her secret. "I definitely thought I should bring it up on this show because a lot of kids watch, and I just wanted kids to know they can overcome it. I think a lot of high school kids go through that, I think every girl struggles with that at some point, so it's important."
