Snooki loses 42 lbs: I work out because I don't want to lose my man

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi recently lost 42 pounds just seven months after giving birth to son Lorenzo and has continued her strict diet and workout regimen because she doesn't want to lose fiancé Jionni LaValle.

"Even though I'm busy with Lorenzo all the time, I still want to look good for Jionni because I don't want him to run away ever from me," Snooki told Us. "So I basically try to go to the gym all the time and train with my trainer and do cardio as much as possible."

The 4-foot-9 Snooki, who slimmed down from 144 pounds to a svelte 102 lbs, shed the weight by following a 1,300-calorie-a-day diet and working out with a trainer four days a week. In addition to weight-training, Polizzi enjoys Zumba dance workouts and doing exercises that specifically target arms and glutes.

"If you can't make it to the gym, you can always work out with your baby [as a weight]," says Snooki, 25. "He likes to go up and down. We call him Super Lorenzo, so he flies."

Polizzi, a former party animal who was arrested in 2010 for drunk and disorderly conduct, no longer drinks to excess and enjoys quiet evenings at home. While being a parent is time-consuming, she says it's important to keep romance alive.

"It's definitely hard to have alone time, as me and Jionni are parents, and taking care of Lorenzo is all about Lorenzo," says Snooki. "Hopefully we'll get that spark back."
