SNN News anchor Mia McCormick to leave station Friday, expecting first child

(Tampa Bay, FL) “In a family way” as they used to say on TV: SNN News 6 anchor Mia McCormick announced she is expecting her first child. Mia posted the news on her Facebook page but also said she is leaving the Sarasota cable news channel on Friday.

“I have some happy and sad news to share. First happy-- I am expecting my first child! A bouncing baby boy and I'm very excited about it. Second the sad-- tomorrow is my last day at SNN6. I've worked on and off for the station for over six years and have built many wonderful relationships in this community. But I'm taking a break from TV for a while to concentrate on my budding family. I want to thank everyone who has watched over the years. Your support has kept me asking the tough questions and digging for the truth.”

Mia had been anchoring the night time news wheel after being a field reporter at SNN.

Former SNN news anchor Adrienne Stein also announced earlier this week that she is expecting her second baby in June. Adrienne left SNN last year and has been anchoring the news on WGME-TV in Maine.
