SNL makes fun of Christine O'Donnell 'Witch Ad' in new skit (Video)

At times it seems as though political candidates practically beg Saturday Night Live to do a comedy sketch on their behavior.  Such was the case after Sarah Palin's memorable Katie Couric interview, and such is the case now with Christine O'Donnell.  O'Donnell certainly invited SNL to parody her when she ran the now infamous "I am not witch" ad in Delaware.  In the video to the left, SNL notes the irony of someone saying "I am not a witch; I'm you."  As the skit makes clear, very few people would have to lead off their general election campaign with the pledge "I am not a witch."

O'Donnell felt it necessary to run the ad after video emerged of her saying she had "dabbled" in witchcraft as a teenager.  O'Donnell went as far as to describe her experience at a satanic altar during one date.  However, O'Donnell was adamant that she had not joined a coven (a group of witches, for those of you unfamiliar with the world of witchcraft).

The ad seems to have not accomplished its goal of "normalizing" O'Donnell.  Instead, various parodies have been made of the ad, which have only served to perpetuate a story O'Donnell does not want in the news.  Following her primary win, O'Donnell has consistently trailed her Democratic opponent, Christopher Coons, by double-digits.  As long as O'Donnell is the center of SNL skits, those poll numbers are unlikely to change.  In addition, the timing of the election, right after Halloween, will probably not help O'Donnell in her efforts to escape the witchcraft story.  Many Delaware residents likely will be wearing O'Donnell witch costumes to their Halloween parties.

    First they:
    1. Ignore you, then they
    2. RIDICULE you, then they
    3. Fight you, then
    4. You win!!

This has and always will be the liberal playbook against conservative women.

By the way, how is it working with Sarah Palin? It's been two years and she is wiping the floor with you liberal losers.

so far all conservatives asked to endorse Palin for president have avoided the question...shows you how few are willing to endorse Palin....get us a few conservatives to publicly endorse Palin and then we'll talk about losers.

They are such fascists. I'd like to see one on the criminal Clinton when he stole from the National Archives. Or on the thief Waters or Jefferson. Or the murderers Kennedy or Kerry. But no, the liberal fascists only do conservatives. Such sad little children.

Oh you people are too funny!! As if O'Donnell has any kind of qualifications to be a senator!! But, if that's how low the GOP wants to set the bar for political leadership, it's their reputation.

Sarah Palin is hardly wiping the floor with liberals. If that's what you sad, sad people think you've been reading only the Fox news version of what's going o.

And some of you need to go look up fascism and fascists.
